  The hottest planet Venus

Venus is the hottest planet in our solar

system and is the  second planet from

the sun. It is named after the Roman

Goddess of love and beauty. Venus is

called earth's sister because their

mass and size are similar to each other.

It  is thought to be made up of a central

iron core, rocky mantle and silicate

crust. In 1761 Russian polymath Mikhail

Lomonosov were the first people to

discover the planet Venus. Venus

temperature is 864 degrees and it also

is the second brightest object in our

solar system. Its atmosphere is made

up of carbon dioxide.

The clouds of Venus creates a big acid

rain and takes 225 days to orbit the sun.

The surface of Venus is full of craters

and volcanoes. Venus is 108.2 million

km away from the sun and is 4.503

billion years old.

I am currently thinking of making plans to visit Venus one day.

Financial literacy

This week we had Chris, Lyndsey,
Jasmine and Sasha who came to
Glenbrae school to teach us about Financial Literacy.
We learnt that if you are saving money
you have to ask your parents for money,
do chores or you could get money when
it's your birthday. We also learnt that you
should never give your passport or your
pin number to other people because you
never know they might be try to be
you and steal your identity. I had so much
fun learning about Financial Literacy. We
hope you come back next year. Thank you

Day and Night

The Earth takes 24 hours to make one complete
rotation. It spins on its axis. We have day night
because the Earth rotates around the sun. The
Earth spins slowly all the time, but we don't feel
any movement because it turns smoothly and at
the same speed. When the Sun rises, that part of
the Earth is rotating to face the Sun. When the
Sun sets, that part of the Earth is rotating away
from the Sun. That all I learnt about day and night.

The Year 5 Soccer Champions

On Wednesday the 16th , 2018 me and some
of the year 5´s went on a soccer tournament
to the point england reserve. We went on a
huge bus with smooth and soft certains and
there was sweet music too. When we got
there we saw lots of schools competing.
The first game that we were going to vs
was Point England Blacks . We got off the bus and
went to go put our bags away . We were
waiting and waiting until Point England Blacks
came but they still weren’t There.

After waiting we just carried on with
our second game. Our second game
was Tamaki primary school. I  started
with the ball and then Ikicked it to Jasel
then she ran with the ball and kicked
it like a furious bat and it went inside
the goal. When she got it in  some of
us gave her a big high five. I started
with the ball again but this time I
past It to Ali-jon and he ran with
ball like he was Cristiano Ronaldo
going for goal. Ali-jon stepped the
first boy then kicked the ball threw
another  boys legs and finally he
kicked it so hard it went past the
goal keepers head. After that goal
we scored 4 more points and we
won. The score was 6 nil. That
was best game I enjoyed when
we went to soccer tournament.

The Rusty Robot

One gloomy, cold night, I was feeling so tired.
I went outside to get fresh air and then
suddenly I saw something walk past in the
scary dark forest. It had blue eyes and it looked
like a zombie with blue laser eyes. I went to
check if it was a person. I was so petrified,
but I still walked towards it.

In 3 seconds, like a cheetah, I ran
to it and I saw an old and abandoned robot
which was helping a fairy get out of a heavy
log. When I saw him lifting the log he couldn’t
lift it. So I helped him lift. I counted 3 seconds
and said "LIFT!!!". We lifted it together and the
fairy was free. I looked at the robot and took him
to my house and fixed him up.

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY

Dear mom, Thank you for everything you've
done for me and thank you for being the best
mom ever. Your the Most,most Important thing
in my life and I will do anything to make you
happy or to make you proud. Thank you for
feeding me, giving me clothes to change in,
looking after me and for Helping me with the
stuff I struggle with at school. I love you so
much and I wish you a Happy mothers day.
