SLJ Week 2 Day 3 - Haiku Poems (Holidays)

>Holidays<

SLJ Week 2 Day 3 - Haiku Poem (World War)

My activity today was super easy to create. It took a lot of thinking but things worked out very well. The first thing that popped into my head thinking about Haiku Poems were "Word War's". I loved every second making this poem and I used as much descriptive language I could in this small haiku.
Hope you Enjoy :)

SLJ Week 2 Day 1 - Which One Doesn't Belong ?

This activity was so exciting . Just how it gets your mind really thinking, was the best part for me. I've learnt how to seek differences by just looking at images. Maybe , if your looking for some entertainment this is the right activity to go through.

SLJ Week 2 Day 1 - What Are You Doing?

Today's task was super exhausting to complete, but a lot of commitment came through. Here is me and my brother walking off to the shops.

Things I used :
  • Shapes -Rectangles & Circles
  • Transparent Images - Blue sky Background & Including Pictures of my brother and I
  • Arrows - Poly Lines

SLJ Week 2 Day 1 - Optical Art : Free Handed

Here is another piece of art I enjoyed drawing, using a blue pen and a light blue crayon. This art is one hundred percent optical.

SLJ Week 1 Day 3 - Song Chorus (Text Graphic)

This activity took a while to think about, but I really used my thoughts and BOOM! I had a great topic to write about. I have written my own chorus to a song I will probably finish later on. This is about the right ways on having a great life. I put in a image showing a person not giving up well he is pushing a heavy sack of hay I think. I know I'm not  good at writing things like these, but I never gave up and here you have a chorus I wrote myself.

> Have a great look <

SLJ Week 1 Day 3 - Te Reo Maori

Another activity completed and well blogged; Woww!! this project was the
best activity I've done so far. I got to learn more about Maori language and how to fix
sentences up by using translator. This presentation shows how I put jumbled up words to a more
well understanding sentence, but in Maori.

SLJ Week 1 Day 2 - Optical Illusions

Today's Activity was such an enjoyment. I had to create on a Google Drawing,
some of my own optical art. It took a while, but it did end up looking more better than
I excepted. This was totally a great way of improving your art skills.

Take a look at these Optical Arts I've created using poly lines and some shapes:)

Fishing False Teeth- SLJ Week 1 Day 2

This was a pretty fun activity to work through. Just the way we had to use our
own imagination just made it even more spectacular :)

Thank you Letter - Mr.Nath

 25/11/2020

Dear Mr.Nath

This week has been such an improvement towards my brain. More knowledge has settled in and more leadership has been given during our time in the hall.

I would like to give my appreciation and respect to Mr Nath for the pressure and work he’s been through trying to give us the most educated week we’ve ever had.

The meaning of Leadership and its features, are what I learnt the most through these past two days. I just wanted to thank you for setting up the most fun and educated week for us and for being the one to improve and achieve my goals on being a great Leader next year.

Just want to acknowledge your effort and hope you have a great day.

Arabic Conversation with the Class

Today we had a fun talk with our student teacher about her culture....Arabic. I learnt a lot especially what similarities they have with other religions. They have different ways of doing prayers and as well as celebrations. I learnt the Arabic alphabet and had so much discussing it with her and my class. Why Islam Needs a Reformation - WSJ

Blood Cells - Genomics

On the last week of this term , we are learning about the Blood. What it is, How it functions and what are the relatives to it. This topic for our Inquiry is amazing and here now is a video explaining what blood is. I had a rough time making this but it was just the details that made it a lot of fun to create. Enjoy :) !!

The Seeing Hawk > Response Questions

The Seeing Hawk - Reading

Today for reading , I read a tale relating to Maori Myths. Its about a hawk borned with special abilities. His owner is very strict but always looks after him. A hawk is making circles around the sky. The owner fly's the kite and there he began to feel and see what the hawk was seeing. There's more to come but as for now ...Happy Maori Language Week !!!

Match Report- Viewing

Today for reading in class, I read a story basically about cricket.  It's a life story with words about cricket and games were they play cricket . A boy and his grandfather have a good time in their life when cricket pops in and challenges them to be a furious human. I didn't understand most of the sayings in this story but I can tell it was words based on a sport or history.

Acts of Kindness

Today was an helpful experiment we tried in class. We all had a paper which had some of our names in it. If you had someones name , you need to bring them a gift just to show little act of kindness. Here is what my best friend  gave me :)

Daily Lockdown Reflection

Coming Back to school was a relief because at my house you would be shocked to hear the volume sound. It's been a lot for my family and as well as New Zealand but hearing that we are moving to alert level 2 was the most exciting news I heard this week.  The good thing is that I got to go school and learn and I got to meet my friends which I haven't seen in a long time. Knowing that the prime minister announced this news, means New Zealand is doing a fantastic job. Lock-down last term was a disaster.

4 weeks we had to isolate with a long cue outside of every super market in New Zealand.  This previous lock-down taught me a lot , and that  meant waking up on time, finishing off work , cleaning up the house and doing good things as possible. Today here at school , we had a short amount of students but I still managed to complete this daily reflection and have a fun time during our learning time. That's it for my reflection and those who are viewing, I am looking forward to seeing some of your reflections. ;)

The Story of Superman's Brother

SuperHeroes in the world are an incredible thing to others. Helping, Saving and respecting the environment. Superman was a little child when he was shot into earth. He had been raised as a superhero with many superpowers. Superman had no sweat saving the world but at some major points he would think if he had family that cherished him. Assisting the earth was his job so he continued on being the amazing superhero he knew he was.

One day a huge explosion happened in a city called Metropolis. Buildings fell with a large bang and individuals shouted with a big voice. A science project went wrong and created a fuse with fire and water which caused the huge explosion of heat. Superman used his mighty strength and phenomenal agility of speed to rush to the buildings that were being collapsed. With his hawk eye sight he spotted a citizen falling from a one thousand and seventy six feet building. As soon as the citizen fell halfway down a black shadow swooped the citizen and put its own legs on the ground so quickly.

Tell the story of Superman's younger brother, Carl. A video ...Superman zoomed right down with a shocked face seeing who it was.  Taking a look at that person made him so shocked he nearly peed in his super underwear. He looked at him and saw some super slick hair, a great nine pack and even more astounded he saw a superman logo on the back of his back. They were having a stare off for a bit and then started smiling for some reason , but as soon as superman attempted to talk to him, he disappeared with a pinch of dust floating in the air.   Siskoid's Blog of Geekery: Reign of the Supermen #198: Superman's ...

Family Workout

When there was completely no lock-down ,everyday my parents went to workout in the gym at Panmure. But since we came straight to lock-down we decided to do our own workout in the living-room as a family. Here is a short video of us in the middle of our workout (filmed by my sister ) > :)

Zebrafish - :)

Here is a picture of a Zebra-fish

Lighting and Zebrafish Development | Powers Scientific
A Zebra-fish is a small smooth marine fish known to be at a location in southeastern India. In class today I've learnt a lot of information about this mysterious creature and on how there being killed. Zebra fish are unique marine animals who deserves to stay a live. They have interesting particles in their body that is very interesting to research about. Their cycle is very different to other life species out there as well as their history too .

This week on Inquiry we learnt about the origin of life - Genomics. It was very interesting to me because a lot of living things were here way before humans were. Here is my poster I made on the Origin of Life

It's because they are known as medical, expensive and also an essential plant in New Zealand.

Manuka plants have a perfect touch of delicious honey. If those honeys were to prefer being in your gut, it will do a phenomenal job making it one hundred percent clean and also really healthy. People / Insects  invest in Manuka Plants for how much medical problems they can solve. They can heal wounds( sore throats and  many more).

Next we have how long a Manuka Tree processes. I've always thought that how pretty it looks , the longer it will grow , and how awful it looks the more speed is put into its process. Manuka trees are more  often to be planted on hill / Mountain land. For this process to begin , it will take 4 or 5 years and if you want this process to fully go to its full potential it will take six years to reach its maximum level .

If you wanted to know where they were found just listen real carefully. Manuka plants are mostly common throughout North , South And Stewart Islands. But kanuka is common throughout lowland and mountain scrubs. It also can be found at sea level to about 1800 metres. It can grow well on every soil type except  water-logged soils.

Hope you have learned a lot from my explanation writing about Manuka Plants/ Trees

Tatai Arorangi- Astronomical Knowledge

Reading activities today was tremendous. I read a small letter given to a Maori scientist named Pauline Harris. After reading this amazing letter, I answered some interesting questions relating to what I read and hopefully you agree with me on the screenshot of one of the questions I've answered. Enjoy :D

Listening to the Land

Listening to the Land
by Laura Goodall

Pauline Harris is a scientist of Rongomaiwahine and Ngāti Kahungunu descent. Like many scientists, she’s been listening to communities from around the world report on the effects of climate change. “Indigenous people who live in really cold places like Alaska have already talked about unusual changes in their environment. Lakes are thawing out earlier than they used to. Mosquitoes are hatching earlier and growing faster.” These reports made Pauline wonder whether Māori communities might be aware of similar changes in Aotearoa. Could climate change be affecting how our wildlife behaves?
To answer this question, Pauline is working with a team of researchers to visit iwi and hapū throughout the country. The mātauranga held by these communities extends back hundreds of years. It could reveal insights into how our plants and animals acted in the past – and how these activities are changing now.

What I understand about the text ?
I think that climate change has been doing a lot of bad things to people's property
and also animals homes. Pauline Harris is being a very good scientist researching about
this terrible news to stop this madness. I understand that climate change is doing many things
to change this world :)

Funful Fractions

Maths was very interesting for me because the problem we tried to solve was a bit hard. Down below the picture you will see my way of a strategie

1 1/2 equals to one boy. I first added 1 1/2 with 1 1/2 which equaled to 3m. Times by 10 and we will have 30m .1 1/2 x 2 equals to 20 boys. So 20 boys will have perfect Ta'ovalas to wear for school.

Reading - Understanding Academic Vocabulary

Here is a screenshot on the work me and my reading group discussed as a team.  Academic vocabulary which also means words used by intelligent people. We talked together and helped those who didn't understand get through everything they felt was hard. Have look and Enjoy :)

Measurement

Today my math's group and I had to do some problem solving with our fun teacher. Down below you will see the problem and the strategies me and my little group had discussed together.

1kg = 40 mins
2kg = 80 mins
3kg = 2 hrs
4kg = 2 hrs 40 mins
We then add the time with the time we put
the roast in at and finally we have the time
it will be ready:) >> 2 hrs + 9:50 am = 11:50 pm + 40 mins = 12:30 pm
