Nellie the Elephant ( My own Story )

BOOM!!! everything went very loud when the great Nellie the elephant went stomping right into the circus with her 4 gigantic feet. The act started with two cheeky monkeys juggling sharp knives. Up and down the knife's went looking for something to  stab ,but luckily these monkeys were being one hundred percent careful. The  performance was highly extraordinary, when the mighty Nellie came marching in like she was a furious soldier.

As she was walking in, one of the circus animals which was a tiger, came zooming in with its fire ring. Suddenly Nellie spun around and accidently whooped the fire ring straight out of the tigers hand. The fire ring went up into the air flying and flying when it finally touched the circus tent. The tent burst into flames. Nellie was petrified she didn't know what to do, all she could do is look at all the danger she caused.

A few moments later Nellie was kicked out of the circus crushing all her hopes of being famous. Nellie was sorry for what she did but she knew she was never gonna get her job back. She packed as much stuff she could and went on searching for a new home for her to rest in.

Who knows, she might even start her own circus?

What is school ?

What is school ? School is an educational foundation arranged to share learning spaces and learning environments for all young students under the control of the teachers. School is a place to upgrade your minds so it could be the best that it could be. It is also a centre to have fun and have fun learning. A school kinda looks similar to a mansion. It has 1 or 2 playgrounds and maybe even a field. These places are for having fun and relaxing our brains from doing too much work. School provides tons of things like stationary, sun hats, uniforms and plenty more to come. At a school there’s lots of classrooms which each student will be placed in depending on their year level. In a classroom students learn in different learning areas such as, Writing, Maths, Reading and Inquiry. These main subjects help you with your knowledge, like your times table or your spelling. There are a large number of subjects like, languages, Art, Science, Music, Literacy, History, Dance, Technology, P.E and more……. That's why school is an important place for your brain. With no school everyone would have empty knowledge in their minds. This is how I feel about school and how a school processes.

Emoji Maths

In class we've been solving equations that are based on emojis. I have made my own creative slide using emojis that represent a number. Try your hardest to find out what the equation equals and what number the emojis represent.

Strategies

Question 1

Stephanie is interested in how fast she can walk. She found out that she can walk 30 metres in 20 seconds. If she continues to walk at the same speed, how far would she have walked in: a) 3 minutes? b) 15 minutes? c) 20 minutes?

Strategie

60 + 60 + 60= 180
180 divided by 20 = 9
9 x 30= 270 metres
B) 60 x 15=900 seconds
900 divided by 20= 45
45 x 30= 1350 metres
C) 60 x 20= 1200 divided by 20= 60

60 x 30=1800 metres

Question 2

Amber’s grandmother is cooking a roast for their Sunday dinner. It weighs 4 kilograms and needs to be cooked 40 minutes for every kilogram of weight. She puts it in the oven at 9.50 am.
a) How long will the roast take to cook? Give your answer in hours and minutes.
b) If her family is due to arrive for lunch at 12.30 will the roast be ready in time? What time will it be ready?

Strategie

40 x 4=160 minutes = 2 hrs 40mins
40 + 40 = 80 - 20 =60 mins = 1 hr
40 + 40 = 80 - 20 = 60 mins = 1 hr
20 + 20= 40 mins. 1 hr + 1 hr + 40 mins
= 2 hrs 40mins
B) Yes because 9.50 + 2hrs = 11.50 + 40 mins= 12.30,

so it will be perfectly cooked for anyone who wants to eat it

Hope you learnt something from my version of maths :)
