Fun time with friends
There I was with my feet in the scorching sand. My best friend and I went to the beach to relax and have fun. We quickly put our togs on and rushed to the beautiful ocean.
We both jumped in the air like kangaroos and splashed right into the water. As we were in the water we saw lots of baby muscles. We both picked one up and opened it up. We munched it all up and carried on swimming. Afterwards I climbed up a big mountain. I counted to 3 and there I was in mid air waiting to see what was gonna happen next. I tucked in my legs and SPLASH! , I dived in the cold ocean really deep.
Next, my friends and I went to have some delicious food to eat. All our stomachs were so empty, we rushed like wild animals to the food basket and almost the whole thing. We sat down on the itchy grass and rested for a little while. We were so full we couldn’t even stand up. A few moments later we went tree climbing. I used my 2 strong legs and pumped it all the way to the top of the tree. I saw a magnificent view of the beach, but mostly saw lots of boats drifting.
Finally, we all packed and got ready to leave. This was a really relaxing and fun day and I can't wait to come back with more fun ideas to do next time.

First Time on a Ferry
There I was standing on the solid floor with my dad and my brothers. We were really excited because we all were going on a ferry to Waiheke for my brothers and I’s rugby game against Waiheke United . My brothers and I were one hundred percent thrilled because it was our very first time on a ferry.
Firstly, we went to a food bar in the ferry which had many delicious treats like ice blocks, ice-cream, candy and chocolate. We bought 4 ice-creams and 1 chocolate bar for each of us. As soon as we sat down, we straight away dumped all our food in our mouth and went to do something else that was way more fun.
Secondly, my brothers and my dad I went all the way to the top of the ferry. I flashed straight away to the top of the ferry and saw the greatest view that I’ve ever seen. I saw white clouds, huge mountains, the bright sun and the phenomenal ocean waving straight at me. As I was looking at the view , suddenly one of my brothers slapped me hard and said “TAG”. I chased him feeling so furious and finally I caught him and gave him a massive slap on his back. It was so much fun hanging on top of the ferry.
Finally, the ferry stopped at Waiheke Island. My family and I got off the ferry with a face happier than puppies and rainbows. We had so much going on our first time on a ferry and I can’t wait to comeback with a lot of fun things to do on my second time on a ferry.

My Greatest Accomplishment
There I was waiting outside in my backyard. I was getting ready to do something I’ve never done before. I was feeling so petrified and thrilled at the same time.
Firstly, I did some exercising. I went for a dash around my house thirty times and finished off with twenty push- ups. After exercising, I knew I was a hundred percent ready to do my crazy stunt.
A few minutes later I quickly climbed up my tall fence and counted to ten. While I was counting to ten, I spotted my brother cheering me on. He was a bit nervous but still he was as excited as me. On the count of ten, I jumped off the fence so high up into the air and back flipped waiting to see where I was going to land. Suddenly I bounced off my trampoline landing on my feet.
I was so relieved that I didn’t end up breaking my head. As soon as my feet touched the trampoline, I felt very shocked and I couldn’t believe that I landed on both of my feet. I felt so sick , it almost looked like I was going to puke.
Finally, I went inside feeling very cheerful. Telling my whole family what an unbelievable stunt I had done outside was very exciting. This was my greatest accomplishment that I’ll never forget. My brother was equally happy for me because he is my hero.

Fun time with family at Rainbows End
I was feeling very excited as my family and I entered Rainbows End. We were super hyped to try some of the most terrifying rides we’ve ever been on.
Firstly my brothers and I went on the Gold Rush. Inside the Gold Rush was so dark I couldn't see anything. The ride started and on we went flashing through the tunnels going side to side and up and down. We went all the way up and saw a beautiful view of New Zealand.
After going on the Gold Rush my dad and I decided to go on the Roller Coaster. I was feeling a lot of chill’s because I heard scared people screaming from a far distance. As my dad and I hopped on the ride our stomachs started rumbling. It was like we had a large number of butterflies flapping around in our belly’s. The ride started moving and so it went speeding everywhere.
When the ride was over my dad and I hopped out of the Roller Coaster with a face like we were going to puke. Later on we went to the cafe to get something to eat. My family and I bought just frozen ice-cream and a huge chocolate doughnut.
We all munched up our delicious food and got ready to leave. I had a blast hanging out with my family and I felt very joyful going to Rainbows End.
My Brothers Birthday
It was a very exciting day for my 4 year old brother. It was his birthday and he was turning 5 years old. I was super hyped to do a lot of fun things with my little brother on his special birthday.
Firstly, my parents took us to the park. We both hopped out of the car and rushed straight to the slide. My brother and I went to the top and we counted to 3. On the count of 3 we both sled rapidly down the slide and landed on the ground. It was so painful but it was still a lot of fun.
After going to the park we decided to go to the Toy Store. This was a place that my little brother has always wanted to come too. He was feeling a hundred percent happy and was ready to have a good time. We went for a walk around the store to find some toys for my little brother to play with. A few moments later we had a whole box of toys waiting in the trolley. I quickly put my brother in the trolley and off we went flashing through the exit door.
Thirdly, we travelled to McDonalds to get something to eat. We ordered a lot of food because our stomachs were dying of hunger. As soon as we got our food, we straight away munched up all of it like we were vicious animals.
Finally, we finished my brothers birthday with a prayer. I felt very cheerful hanging out with my little brother on his own birthday.

My Phenomenal Effort
My legs were as wobbly as spaghetti as my school and I entered the athletics cluster. At my athletics at school, I only came 1st in 100 metre sprint. I felt very nervous and delighted at the same time because I saw many schools competing.
First, I began to exercise. I went for 10 laps around the field and did some basic exercises like 10 star jumps, 15 push-ups and 20 burpees. Afterwards I ran as quick as I could to the starting line because I just heard that my race was about to start.
I saw the opponents I was up against and they looked really fierce. In my head I absolutely knew for sure that I could beat them at anytime . Almost as the race was going to start, I felt a lot of butterflies in my stomach. My hands were as cold as ice and my skin was itchy than Poison Ivy.
The race started and on I went pumping my 2 skinny legs with all my strength. My school was screaming like babies and the crowd was going wild. I was so close to the finish line, I leaped into the air like a bunny and past the finish line feeling very relieved happy that the race was over.

A Visit to the Museum
My class and I were very shaky as we arrived at the Museum. I was 100 percent excited to see all types of different things about Insects and all kinds of other stuff in the Museum. First we went into a little room to disgust the rules about what we do inside the Museum and what we do outside of the Museum. After we put all our bags in a cage and traveled to the domain outside. We all split up into small groups and grabbed a iPad per group.
In my group, was my best friends Gideon, Maria, Aj and Arman. We were the group that was going to be filmed. I was super hyped because I’ve always dreamed of being a famous star. Each group had to go search the outside and take pictures with the iPad of different types of insects, animals, and native plants and trees. As my group was walking through the forest, we took a lot of pictures of insects, animals and plants.
I spotted a brown bird chirping around near a massive tree and my group all spotted a pepper tree getting blown by the strong wind. Next, one of the tourist guides, Ruby led us to a creek. She grabbed a fishing net and used it to scoop the dirt under the water. I put a grey tray on the floor and she poured the dirt inside. Suddenly many creatures were crawling out of the dirt swimming around the tray. It was so hilarious because it looked like it was dancing.
We saw larvaes, Mayflies, Caddisflies and also baby slugs. We took pictures of all the insects and animals we saw. A few moments later everyone was called back to the domain. That day we had so much fun and explored the wonderful things in the huge museum.
I really had so much fun at the museum, especially when my group and I explored the nature taking photos of Insects, Animals, Plants and Trees. I can't wait to come back some other time.

Book Week in my Glenbrae School
This week was Book Week. There was a play performed in our school hall on Tuesday.
The play was about a Treasure Hunt that has been written by Craig Christie.
There were two tribes living on an island. These two tribes blamed each other for stealing each others song.
The Treeland tribe was led by George and the Seaview Tribe was led by Jessica. These two characters teamed up to solve the problem about the lost treasure that was their song.
The problem was solved when they were able to put the torn map together and work out how to get the treasure. They had to read three different books to solve the problem.
I really enjoyed this play because both the characters were very smart and talented. They song very well and were also hilarious.
Thank you Sam and Lydia for coming to our school. m, I hope to see you again next year.

Financial Literacy
We learnt about how to budget and save money. The other topics we learnt about were insurance, borrowing and lending, identity theft, mortgage, trust, and and saving money. Our tutors were Emma, Jane and Matt from price water house and cooper accountany firm.
I enjoyed all the sessions because the activities were very exciting and practical.

The Best Mass I've ever gone to
In the weekends my family and I went to a mass to represent mt.wellington church. We changed in to our Tongan clothes & went in our fast van. We arrived at the church and sat next to our church members.
A few moments later the mass started and my church had to sing . We sang calmly and beautifully. An hour later the mass was over. As soon as I got outside of the church, I saw a lot of familiar people. I had lots of fun meeting new friends and a lot of family members.
After that we went inside the hall to eat. I looked inside the hall and straight away started to drool. I saw lots of delicious food like, huge peach cakes, fresh prawns, cheesy pizzas and BEST OF ALL SUSHI. Since I was so hungry I snatched a plate and got all the delicious foods and munched it all up.
When I was full I took one of my church member to the playground. She was a little girl and her name was Amelia. We played on the slide, the monkey bars, the flying fox and and especially the swing. Amelia and I were sweating so we decided to go back.
Finally my family and I went back home and went to sleep. Myself had a blast and I hope could go again next time.

Saving a Kangaroo
Saving a Kangaroo
We were all happily sitting under the kauri tree, when Mason and I saw a kangaroo hopping out of the bush. Pinomi and Ali-Jon saw it, then went close to it. The kangaroo was hopping, suddenly a big vicious dog came and was chasing the dog everywhere.
Pinomi and Ali-Jon felt sad so they went and helped the kangaroo. Ali-Jon grabbed a tree branch and started whacking the dog. Pinomi was just watching and cheering Ali-Jon on.
Me and Mason went to go help Ali-Jon so we went with dog food and fed it til it was fat as possible. As soon as the dog was fat, me and Mason used our big muscles and lifted the dog up and through it in the bush.
Finally we led the kangaroo back to its home and gave it a snack. Ali-Jon was relieved that the big dog didn't eat his head off. Me and Mason went back home and slept for our next big journey. THE END

The Best Game EVER!
My body was shaky as I entered the cold field with my pointy boots. My rugby game was on against Vacity. The game started with the other team kicking off to us. The ball flew up high, but my teammate caught the ball and ran hard as he could to get pass. He ran like a bull and KAPOW!, he collapsed into a player from the other team.
The crowd went wild, but luckily they were okay. After a few minutes we scored 5 tries and only converted 3 of them. The first half was over and we got some rest before the second half. As halftime was over the kick off began from the other team.
We caught it again but this time it was me. I pumped my legs and bumped off 2 players. I made lots of meters and nearly reached the trie line. My teammate got the ball, ran through 3 people and got tackled. He got tackled on to the ground and I quickly scooped the ball with my bare hands and ZOOMED!, for the trie in the corner.
After I tried, we kept on scoring, scoring and 1 minute later it was full time. The score was
72 - 17 to Marist. I felt very cheerful that we won and also felt proud of myself .
That day I went back home and went for a nice hot shower.

First Kiwi Sport Session
Today the Senior School had its first kiwi sport session for this term.
Ben, from Auckland Badminton taught us some badminton skills. We used a badminton racket and a shuttle.
We learnt how to hit the shuttle using a fore arm hit and backhand hit. Ben also taught us how to hold the racket using different grips.

Hurray! THIS IS THE FINAL DAY OF TERM 1
Im super hyped and very excited that it's the last day of term 1. I’ve done 95% good this term and I’m looking forward to be doing all my homework in the holidays .
The things I did well this term were working well with others, being a role model to my friends and speaking confidently. I feel I need to work on using various strategies in maths and using more similes and descriptive language in my writing.
I would do a lot of maths, reading and writing at home, school and during the holidays to make things better next term. I felt joyful working in room 10 this term because I am a tuakana and I get to teach the teinas.

Volleyball Champions
Me and my team were so excited as we arrived at the volleyball stadium. We trained so hard at school and knew we were going to win. As my team and I went inside, we went up the stairs and put our bags on the chairs. We sat down and watched some very good schools practicing. I saw a lot of familiar students and met a lot of new students too.
After watching the amazing schools practice we decided to go down to the volleyball court to practise our serving. Well we were practicing our serving, suddenly our first volleyball game was on against Ruapotaka school. I was the first server and I was so nervous because there were lots of people, but the year 8’s and 7’s representing for Glenbrae school were cheering me on.
As they were cheering me on, I felt super confident and focused in the middle. My mighty hands swung and KAPOW!!, the ball flew right in the air. The ball was flying like a bird right in the middle and then…….. I SCORED!!!. I felt proud of myself and now on I was 100% confident.
20 minutes later the games was over. We won and my team and I were so happy. We had lunch and drank lots of water so we can be fully hydrated for our next game. 15 minutes later our next game was on. We won again to Stan hope school. My teammate Gideon was on fire. He was serving it all day long getting lots of points for our team.
A few moments later we beat Stone fields. My teammates Jasel and Jaydin were amazing and were contributing the best with others.
Another few hours later we were in the finals against Pt.England school. My whole team Pinomi, Jaydin, Jasel, Penelope, Victoria.F, Pitara, Ali-jon and Gideon were focusing and were communicating to each other throughout the game. We like got the amount of 1000 points and we were very sure we were going to win. The referee blew the whistle and the game was over. In 3 seconds, I screamed like a girl and hugged my whole team with a humongous smile on my face. We dominated Pt.England school and were 1,000,000% HAPPY!!.
Finally my team and I went back to school still with the smile on our faces.
After watching the amazing schools practice we decided to go down to the volleyball court to practise our serving. Well we were practicing our serving, suddenly our first volleyball game was on against Ruapotaka school. I was the first server and I was so nervous because there were lots of people, but the year 8’s and 7’s representing for Glenbrae school were cheering me on.
As they were cheering me on, I felt super confident and focused in the middle. My mighty hands swung and KAPOW!!, the ball flew right in the air. The ball was flying like a bird right in the middle and then…….. I SCORED!!!. I felt proud of myself and now on I was 100% confident.
20 minutes later the games was over. We won and my team and I were so happy. We had lunch and drank lots of water so we can be fully hydrated for our next game. 15 minutes later our next game was on. We won again to Stan hope school. My teammate Gideon was on fire. He was serving it all day long getting lots of points for our team.
A few moments later we beat Stone fields. My teammates Jasel and Jaydin were amazing and were contributing the best with others.
Another few hours later we were in the finals against Pt.England school. The Big Fair
My legs were very wobbly, as I walked in the most biggest fair I've been to…... The Sacred Heart College Fair. As soon as I took one step through the gates I zoomed myself to the tip top area to either buy me an Popsicle or an ice-cream. I chose to buy an slushy Popsicle. It was only for $2. I grabbed and took a little munch. It was so delicious and I was hoping to get another one, but I chose to do something else.
I had 3 more dollars left and I was thinking so hard what I should buy. I looked everywhere and saw yummy candy floss, tasty kettle corn and lots of different sweets. As I was looking around I saw something fantastic. It was glorious and looked so fun. It was a…... Bouncy Castle like 1,000,000 meters long. I bought a ticket and had so much fun jumping, bumping and flipping.
After doing fun stuff I went back to eat and waited for my family to have the same amount of fun I had. 3 hours later, my family and I packed all our stuff, ate a little bit more and then traveled back home.
I had the most amazing-est day of my life. I hope next year's fair will be much, much funner the this year's one.

Friday Night
Friday Night, I was so hyped to watch the ultimate rugby game Warriors vs Titans. It started at 8.00. It was so amazing to watch it while screaming and laughing with my family. My family and I screamed so loud our eyes nearly popped out.
As the first half finished, I teleported to the kitchen and munched on a delicious banana and drank some milk. After I finished eating I teleported again back to couch and continued watching the game.
1 hour later the game was over. Guess who won. It was the…..Warriors. My family and I were so happy and were so tired. We went to sleep and dreamed what will happen next Friday Night.

There are 125 students in a school. They were given some sketching pencils by an Art supplies store. If each student received 8 sketching pencils each how many pencils are there altogether?
125x8=
100x8=800
20x8=160
5x8=40
800+160+40=1000
B) If there were 25 pencils in a packet,how many packets of pencils did they receive.
B) 1000 divided by 4=250#
25x4=100
250x4=1000

Statistics
For the last 2 weeks, room 10 has been studying about statistics.Our focus question was:What is the ethnic makeup of Glenbrae School?
We worked in groups of 4’s and we carried out an interview within our class to find out the ethnic makeup of our class first.
In Room 10 we have 6 ethnic groups. Those are NZ Maori, Tongans, Samoans, C.I Maori, Indians, Chinese. Out of 28 students we have 3 NZ Maori,11 Tongans,6 Samoans,6 C.I Maori,1 Indians,1 Chinese.
